Department Overview
Operations Support is dedicated to creating cross-commodity consistency and standards in Operations. The team provides support services guided by best practices and a relentless pursuit for improvement. It has single points of accountability for Work Management & Resource Planning, Execution Support, Business Operations & Process Improvement, PG&E Academy, and Enterprise Public Works. Operations Support is comprised of approximately 1,000 coworkers.
Position Summary
The Business Automation Analyst develops solutions for assigned business system(s) or tools and designs, prototypes and/or publishes custom reporting solutions. Functions as a liaison to business partners, representing the Work Tracking Automation team to the business process owners in system requirements, implementations and support. Defines user system requirements, provides user support, coordinates user acceptance testing of new tools and gathers users feedbacks. Performs feasibility analysis, develops project scope, and provides recommendations on alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $102,000
Bay Area Maximum: $152,000
Job Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Compiles and analyzes data. May develop and/or maintain data models for what-if analysis and for other business purposes.
- Metrics and Reporting: Develops and tracks business metrics. Develops and maintains standard, custom, and ad-hoc reports.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develops or works with budgets and forecasts.
- Research: Researches best practices; develops internal and external benchmarks in support of business decisions.
- Quality Assurance & Business Process Improvement: May perform quality assurance and business process improvement activities in support of the business. Activities may include developing, managing or coordinating performance or quality assessment, business process re-engineering, change management, communication and training.
- Project Management: Lead projects, determining scope, budget, timeframes, forming teams, assigning tasks, managing resources and issues.
- Provide consulting in business and user needs.
- Handle moderate to complex user issues that arise with supported systems and tools. Address most calls independently; escalate the more complex problems to senior peers.
- Analyze end-to-end, moderate to high complexity business processes in one or more business functional areas.
- Understand the current and future business environment of the organization and effectively anticipate, identify and meet the business needs.
