Janitorial Associate

Job Summary

The associate has responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the facility's cleanliness and infrastructure. This encompassing role entails the thorough cleaning of all sections within the warehouse premises, which include offices, break rooms, restrooms, floors, and various other areas distributed throughout the warehouse environment.

The position of Janitor, or Cleaner, carries the distinct responsibility of sustaining a pristine and hygienic facility, achieved through the diligent execution of an array of cleaning tasks. These tasks entail activities such as mopping and vacuuming floors, disinfecting surfaces, and systematically emptying trash cans or recycling bins. The Janitor's purview also involves the comprehensive supervision of maintaining workplace cleanliness, organization, and the rigorous application of disinfection protocols, accomplished through the utilization of a diverse range of tools and equipment.

Essential Job Functions

• Thoroughly clean the interiors of buildings, addressing surfaces such as floors, carpets, rugs, windows, and walls.
• Implement disinfection measures for frequently utilized items, including desks, door handles, office tools, and telephones.
• Effectively manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, promptly initiating orders for new products as required.
• Undertake the upkeep of outdoor grounds, ensuring their cleanliness and order.
• Expertly remove debris from sidewalks and walkways.
• Systematically empty and maintain trash and recycling receptacles.
• Strategically organize and replenish supply rooms to ensure their proper functionality.
• Proficiently execute minor repairs on machinery, equipment, and tools.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop various floor surfaces.
• Thoroughly clean and uphold the maintenance of restrooms, emphasizing hygiene and sanitation.
• Wash and polish windows and mirrors.
• Promptly alert supervisors to any observed unsafe conditions.
• Adeptly operate floor scrubbers and other specialized cleaning equipment.
• Conscientiously dust furniture and fixtures to maintain a polished appearance.
• Ensuring the operational readiness of cleaning equipment, performing necessary maintenance.
• Demonstrate the ability to independently complete tasks within specified timeframes and with minimal supervision.
• Promptly inform supervisors or managers about substantial repair needs.
• Skillfully manage and promptly address spills utilizing appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Operate a variety of cleaning equipment, including scrubbers, sweepers, brushes, and similar operational machinery.
• The duties are comprehensive but not exhaustive; additional responsibilities may apply as deemed necessary.

Skills for Success

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• One year of experience preferred.
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them.
• Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces.
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
• Good organization skills
• Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
• Excellent time-management skills

Hiring Range:

$14.26 USD - $17.82 USD per hour

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
