Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 DOE

About the Role:
The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance. This is a key leadership role responsible for leading our team of Mechanics and Lead Mechanics. The Maintenance Manager plays a vital part in ensuring that maintenance services meet the needs of our drivers while maintaining compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of Mechanics and Lead Mechanics.
• Oversee shop safety and ensure full OSHA compliance, prioritizing accident prevention.
• Manage vendor relationships, ensuring warranty compliance and cost efficiency.
• Monitor the completion of maintenance tasks and adherence to company SOPs.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and accuracy in work orders.
• Promote team building, leadership development, and a strong, engaged team culture.
• Ensure open communication with supervisors, leadership, and team members.
• Address performance issues and provide necessary coaching to improve outcomes.
• Manage parts inventory and conduct regular spot checks to ensure stock accuracy.
• Travel as needed to support team and company objectives.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of related maintenance experience in the transportation industry required
• 1-2 years of proven supervisory experience 
• Familiarity with DOT regulations, OSHA safety standards, and FMCSA compliance
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneNote; ability to run and analyze reports

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
