A role you will love  

The Senior Software Engineer (Java) will perform coding, provide technical guidance and consultation with application teams, Business, and Engineering managers. This role will be part of an Agile delivery team which creates customer-oriented solutions.

Other Responsibilities Include:

·     Provide leadership with the software development life cycle, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support for the CCT Application.

·     Program design, deployment, and ongoing Test Automation support.

·     Provide informal guidance and mentorship with colleagues to enable them to contribute to the team’s objectives.

·     Ensure the quality of tasks, services and information – through the quality of your own work and the support you provide to others - is high-quality, maintainable software which adheres to internal standards and policies.

·     Support the evaluation and resolution of technical challenges and blockers to minimize their impact on the teams’ delivery and/or supported products.

·     Identify and support improvements and innovation in technologies/practices within your team that would benefit the business e.g. efficiency in the software development process or improved customer experience.

·     Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to: share knowledge and ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.

What will you bring to the role?

·     Minimum of 7 years of experience in the following:

o   Web application development using Spring, Spring Boot, JSP, Spring MVC and Hibernate

o   Web service development: Rest API development, JSON, SOAP 

o   Middleware and Cloud platforms, such as: Tomcat, Weblogic, Redhat OpenShift, Azure

o   High-level development languages using Java, J2EE.

·     Strong working experience of database development with Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle or SQL Server including object development, performance tuning and trouble-shooting.

·     Collaborates and communicates well, builds great working relationships, influences others, challenges effectively and responds well to challenge from others, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.

·     Self-motivated and can use own initiative to work with limited guidance to implement innovative solutions.

·     Pays attention to detail, finds root cause and takes a rigorous approach to problem solving.

·     Experience with version control or source code repositories: Azure DevOps, GitHub.

·     Knowledge and understanding of technology object oriented design patterns and their application.
