About the role

This is a full-time position working M-F, 8am-4:30pm. Weekly earned wage access is an option for this position. 

Job Purpose or Objective(s):  The Certified Phlebotomist collects and processes patient specimens for lab testing.  You will obtain and communicate appropriate information concerning patient specimens and reports. You will report to the department leadership.

 

Primary Tasks:

Perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on patients of all ages. 

Follow sterile procedure appropriate technique and approved collection equipment to obtain required specimens for testing.

Label specimens correctly and deliver to proper testing area.

Process sample for test analysis for waived and moderate tests.

Process all specimens requiring preparation for referral to reference labs.

Perform clerical duties including logging, filing, answering telephones and taking messages.

Maintain laboratory report and files in orderly and proper condition.

  1. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.   

 

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of phlebotomy course through an accredited phlebotomy program
  • Six [6] months of on-the-job training or equivalent experience
