About the Role
The Embedded Software organization at Sibros focuses on the in-vehicle software stack, developing highly reliable software that can be easily deployed on a wide range of hardware, operating systems, and vehicle architectures.
As a Staff member of the team and an Android expert you will be responsible for leading the development of our in-vehicle software for Android Automotive as well as:
- Lead the development of our in-vehicle software for Android Automotive, expanding the product features, ensuring it can easily be deployed, and that it follows Android best practices
- Design, implement, test, release, and maintain embedded software that can easily be deployed on a wide range of hardware, operating systems, and vehicle architectures
- Create and contribute to roadmaps, project plans, requirements documents, design documents, test plans, and other documentation
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members through documentation and code reviews, knowledge sharing, being a role model, and improving their technical skills
- Identify and execute on fundamental code, design, and process improvements, ensuring we are creating best in class code and following industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create plans, identify risks, resolve issues, and deliver on schedule
Minimum Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science
- 8+ years of experience developing production-quality embedded software
- Expertise developing for Android systems, preferably Android Automotive
- Proficient in embedded C, C++, and/or Java programming on resource constrained systems
- Experience working with modern software development methodologies and tools (Agile, git, unit testing, static analysis, code review, CI, MISRA C/C++, etc.)
- Proven track record of leading and delivering projects in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Great team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience mentoring team members, performing documentation and code reviews, and advocating for development best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing for Embedded RTOS and/or Linux/POSIX systems
- Familiar with automotive networking and protocols (CAN, Ethernet, UDS, SOME/IP, etc.)
- Experience with IoT technologies and concepts (MQTT, HTTPS, security, OTA software updates, telemetry, etc.)
- Experience interfacing with customers and external stakeholders
- Experience with the following collaboration and development tools: Bazel, PC-Lint, Git, JIRA, Confluence, Google Test)
