About the role

Job Responsibilities

  • Data entry of prescriptions and insurance adjudication. 
  • Fill medication orders for pharmacist review.
  • Place daily order with drug wholesaler, facilitate pick up of medications from other pharmacies, and stock pharmacy medications and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate logs pertaining to cleaning, refrigerator temperatures, etc. related to USP 797.
  • Verify received drug shipments against invoice, and stock shelves.
  •  Return unused medication to stock or dispose of properly per policy.
  • Prepare compounded products, checked by pharmacist.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MEDICATION HISTORY RECONCILIATION

 Gathers & documents a patient's medication history to help ensure patient safety & accurate medication administration

  • Collect medication history by interviewing the patient, family or caregiver, reviewing charts, & calling pharmacies & physician offices
  • Identify errors in patient history & communicate with appropriate staff
  • Update database
  • Collect medication history for upcoming patients that are having surgery via phone calls

Education Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent with Indiana Pharmacy Technician license and National Accredited Certification.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum: Two (2) years of Pharmacy Technician experience

License/Certification Requirements

  • Minimum: Indiana Pharmacy Technician license and National Accredited Certification
