About Switch

At Switch, we don’t just design, build and operate data centers—we are enabling the technology of the future. Led by Founder & CEO, Rob Roy, we believe in revolutionary innovation, operational excellence and the principle of karma. Switch is where talented people come together to EVOLVE the digital world.

We believe that innovation isn’t just about technology—it’s about the people, culture, and purpose that make it happen. Every Switch team member contributes to a mission greater than themselves: to create the world’s most advanced digital infrastructure that powers the progress of humanity.

The Role: Senior Change Manager

As Senior Change Manager, you modernize and scale Switch’s change enablement program across data center operations. You shift the model from centralized and manual to decentralized and risk-based. You define standards, enable teams to execute changes safely, and ensure changes are auditable and repeatable. Your work improves reliability, throughput, and operational discipline across the enterprise.

You partner with Operations, Engineering, Network, Facilities, Security, enterprise applications, and clients to align change governance with real-world constraints.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the transition to a decentralized, asynchronous change enablement model

  • Define and maintain policies for Standard, Normal, and Emergency changes

  • Establish decision rights, escalation paths, and exception handling processes

  • Design and implement a risk-based framework with clear controls and go or no-go criteria

  • Develop and maintain program documentation including MOP and SOP standards, templates, and checklists

  • Build and maintain a standard change catalog for repeatable, low-risk activities

  • Facilitate review and approval processes for higher-risk or cross-domain changes

  • Monitor adherence to change controls and address gaps or repeat issues

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align maintenance windows and dependencies

  • Track and report program metrics such as change success rate, emergency rate, lead time, and compliance

  • Ensure audit-ready documentation and evidence trails for all changes

  • Participate in post-change and post-incident reviews and translate lessons into updated standards

  • Deliver training, office hours, and ongoing reinforcement to support adoption

  • Complete required background checks and drug screenings for customer-specific deployments

What We’re Looking For

  • You balance operational speed with risk control and reliability

  • You make structured, written decisions that enable asynchronous collaboration

  • You influence teams without relying on direct authority

  • You translate complex risk into clear, practical controls

  • You hold standards consistently while remaining pragmatic

  • You use data to improve processes and close gaps

  • You communicate clearly and directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in data center or critical operations environments

  • 5+ years of experience in change management or change enablement programs

  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL change practices, including Standard, Normal, and Emergency models

  • Experience designing governance frameworks and audit-ready controls

  • Experience working with infrastructure changes including power, cooling, network, hardware, and cabling

  • Experience writing clear, enforceable policies and operational procedures

  • Strong written communication skills for structured, written-first decision making

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • ITIL certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Experience implementing decentralized or distributed governance models

Physical and Work Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and operate standard business equipment

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally

  • Ability to comply with required personal protective equipment when working in operational areas
