Description

Albion College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy. Albion is dedicated to the highest quality in undergraduate education led by our teacher-scholar faculty. The Department of Philosophy is conducting a search for a Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2025-26 academic year, to begin in August 2025. This position requires a Ph.D. in philosophy prior to appointment and demonstrated excellence in teaching. 

Interested candidates should have a specialization in ethical theory or applied ethics. A specialization or strong competence in philosophy of law is also desirable. The course load is three courses per semester, and the candidate will be expected to teach biomedical ethics, leadership ethics, and introduction to philosophy in the fall.

Albion College is located in Albion, Michigan. The city of Albion is located in south central Michigan. It is within a one hour drive of Ann Arbor, Lansing and Battle Creek. 

Benefits:

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time
Position Duration: 9 months per year (mid-August through mid-May)

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in related field by start of position is required
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
