Systems Engineer III

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team and take on a team leadership role in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex systems. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in systems engineering and a strong ability to guide junior engineers, solve complex technical challenges, and work closely with stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives

Key Responsibilities:  
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Handle complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide resolutions to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures. Establish and enforce technical standards to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices across systems and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business leaders, project managers, and other departments to understand technical requirements and provide solutions that meet organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, recommending innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and ensure that systems can accommodate future growth, recommending and implementing scalable solutions as needed.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or a similar field, with a strong track record in system design and implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong expertise in networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall configurations.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and resolve critical issues quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
