We are looking for an experienced quality-oriented individual with a strong commitment to continuous improvement to continue to develop and grow the existing Quality Management Teams and its effectiveness. The position provides exposure to the full business and would require some travel. A successful candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college, university or equivalent. Additionally, a minimum of 10 years related experience implementing and managing advanced quality systems.  Duties includes but not limited to: maintaining and improving the Quality Management System for Marmon Aerospace & Defense. Managing Laboratory, and Laboratory Personnel. Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert with respect to ISO9001, AS9100, Mil-Spec requirements, and UL requirements, auditing internal and external processes, support for manufacturing and operational projects, corrective and preventative action reports, supplier management including conducting supplier audits, complete First Article Inspections, Test Reports. Additional responsibilities would include leading continuous improvement projects as well as process support for the operational team. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, strong organizational skills, a drive for continuous improvement and waste reduction, experience maintaining AS9100 certification and/or ISO9001.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for maintaining QMS in accordance with AS9100
• Responsible for continuous improvement of QMS and Implementation of APQP
• Quality System Database implementation/management 
• Customer & Supplier communication
• Develop quality assurance staff through orientation and training.
• Prepare financial quality assurance budget and meet budgeted objectives
• Provide qualitative/quantitative data to drive process and production improvements
• Positively impact and shape the quality culture
• Reporting monthly metrics not limited to: Supplier performance and Plant Performance KPI’s.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience as a Quality Engineer/Director.
• 5 years of Wire & Cable experience preferred
• Ability to function autonomously and as a member of a team
• Ability to prioritize, and manage time effectively through the implementation of 80/20
• Ability to adapt, and work with a cross functional team
• Good organization skills as well as communication skills
• Strong root cause analysis skills as well as implementation of effective corrective preventive actions
• Lean 6 sigma experience / green belt is preferred

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

BS in Engineering
