Lead Environmental Services Project Manager

This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Industrial Hygiene Project Manager for our New York City, NY office. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for oversight and performance of hazardous material projects in the immediate NYC area, including all 5 boroughs, Westchester and Long Island.
Your Impact
- Performance and/or oversight of hazardous material (asbestos, lead, mold, PCB’s, etc.) investigations, abatement design and abatement monitoring oversight
- Performance and/or oversight of other industrial hygiene task such as indoor air quality investigations and health and safety plan development
- Perform professional environmental science work and conduct investigations, inspections, and environmental studies and surveys to gain further information on a particular environmental problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future environmental needs
- Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to address, prevent, control, or restore environmental problems.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record are a must
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Assist with the development and scoping of medium-sized projects
- Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner
- Conduct research as appropriate and assist with proposal development
- Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work
- Remain current in the latest environmental science subject matter and techniques
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or other related scientific discipline.
- 7 to 10 years of experience working as an industrial hygienist/environmental scientist and completing environmental surveys, fieldwork, habitat and impact assessments, and/or construction monitoring
- Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work.
- Current NYS Department of Labor (NYS DOL) Licensed Asbestos Inspector / Project Designer and/or Asbestos Project Monitor
- NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Asbestos Investigator ( or ability to get license immediately upon start of employment)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license. Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Must be able to use a computer and be functional using MS-Word, Excel, Powerpoint

WSP Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $92,800 - $165,440
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
