JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Role:
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for managing the flow of work as assigned along with supervising other maintenance technician(s). Duties may involve assigning and managing work relating to insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; inspecting and repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing new equipment; and updating the facility infrastructure as required along with other duties associated with the operation of a highly automated 575k sq. ft. fulfillment center.
A successful Maintenance Lead is a motivational leader, responsible for engaging their team and business partners to achieve the highest levels of performance, safety, quality, and attendance.
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is based on-site in our Belton, MO fulfillment center.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Act as the senior maintenance leader at the facility in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
- Tracking and assigning daily maintenance and facility preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
- Investigating and dispatching actions to correct all problem calls for facility and distribution equipment
- Perform scheduled and daily maintenance on distribution equipment such as forklifts, material handling equipment, conveyors, conveyor support equipment etc., to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings is maintained
- Perform scheduled and daily maintenance on facility equipment such as HVAC, lighting, electrical and plumbing, etc
- Perform building maintenance such as painting, drywall patching, light construction, etc.
- Works with subcontractors and vendors in the testing, maintenance and repairs of fire systems and other regulated systems
- Help Manage 3rd party vendors and contractors
- Skilled to properly handle distribution equipment regarding; OSHA and safety requirements, hazardous materials, follow company policies and emergency procedures
- Prepare all department documentation such as, but not limited to work logs, equipment check sheets, preventive maintenance documentation, etc.
- Responsible for communicating major problems, concerns and inoperable equipment information to the Senior Director of Operations, facility partners, and vendors
- Responsible for all completed work and/or assignments of other maintenance associates
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following manufacturers guideli
