About the role

At UniSystems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Strategic Operations Officer to join our UniQue team in Belgium!

What will you be doing in this role:

  • Business Administration:
    • Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives, focusing on outsourcing projects and services.
    • Oversee daily operations, ensuring leadership decisions are prioritized and executed effectively.
    • Manage senior management meetings, setting agendas and tracking progress.
    • Supervise administrative functions and handle confidential matters.
    • Organize key events, executive meetings, and management conferences.
    • Maintain task tracking, action logs, and organizational calendars.
    • Draft reports, documents, and correspondence.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Define policies, standards, and guidelines for effective planning.
  • Risk Management:
    • Oversee risk management activities, ensuring mitigation and reporting.
    • Maintain risk registers and engage experts as needed.
    • Advise on best practices for risk management.
  • Organizational Facilitation:
    • Lead workgroups and promote best practices in processes and collaboration.
    • Support teams in problem-solving and performance improvement.
    • Facilitate planning sessions and enhance team dynamics.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

  • A Master's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 5 years post-related experience (Or a Bachelor's degree with 8 years post related experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role within a large international or governmental organization or military, managing multidisciplinary and virtual teams
  • Experience with PRINCE2 or comparable Project Management methodology
  • Proven experience in service delivery and continuous service improvement at senior level
  • Extensive experience managing workflow and executive support staff
  • Extensive experience in leading cross-functional teams, preferably in an international environment
  • Proven ability to multi-task, deliver on responsibilities and work effectively under pressure while producing high-quality products under short-notice deadlines.
  • A strong command on the English language is required
  • An active Security Clearance at the necessary level is required
  • Desirable Experience and Education:
  • Proven Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) experience at senior staff or management level in a sizeable organization, preferably one in the government defense sector or in an international organization, a national public administration (civil or military), or the private defense sector, with minimum 8 years management experience of supervising staff and/or directing the activities of an organization;
  • Specific prior experience as Executive Officer in a Military or Civil organization
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation and Practitioner certifications
  • Intermediate ITIL Foundation certification
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment preferably comprising both military and civilian elements
