NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The Director of Comprehensive Services combines the dynamic roles of data and systems expertise, strategic planning and innovation, as well as operational planning and follow-through. The Director of Comprehensives Services is essential in ensuring that our program is data-driven, compliant in areas of health and safety, and comprehensive in our approach to family and community services. The Director of Comprehensive Services establishes and maintains local and national partners to ensure effective and efficient family and health-related operations within the program. JOB FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL:

  • Takes responsibility for managing Family and Community Engagement strategic planning and implementation support for the program. In this role, the Director of Comprehensive Services will be required to onboard and support the Manager of Family and Community Services and the team of family services and support staff.
  • Takes responsibility for managing Health Services' strategic planning and implementation support for the program. In this role, the Director of Comprehensive Services will be required to onboard and support the Manager of Health Services and the team of family services and support staff.
  • Oversees the CACFP program implementation and compliance.
  • Know and understand all Head Start Performance Standards, Licensing Standards, policies, and related state requirements for childcare licensing and state pre-k guidelines in order to interpret rules, educate staff and families, and implement appropriate facets of programs.
  • Ensures all record-keeping and reporting systems are established and meet Prime Time and state licensing guidelines.
  • Oversee, review, and evaluate activities to ensure compliance with Head Start Federal agencies, local and Tribal regulations, and include any other pertinent policies that directly or indirectly affect the program.
  • Provide guidance, monitor, and assist the program to develop systems for eligibility, recruitment, selection, and enrollment/intake process for returning and new families, including the development of a comprehensive recruitment plan that will ensure the program is fully enrolled.
  • Oversees internal systems and external partnerships to ensure that all children participating in the program are up to date on EPSDT preventive care and follow-up evaluation and treatment, have access to high-quality medical and dental homes and health insurance.
  • Provides training to Executive Leadership and Board on family services and health models, and practices.
  • Provide individualized follow-up and support to the family engagement and health managers and their teams to develop and outline professional development strategies. Provide training on coaching, supervision, and observe these professional learning techniques to provide feedback to enhance skills and build capacity through the reflective cycle.

Qualifications


PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Family and Community Engagement, Public Health, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field, required 
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Family and Community Engagement, Education, Public Health (or a related field), preferred

Work Experience:

  • 3 or more years' experience in family and community engagement field, health (maternal and child health, health education, public health).
  • Experience in coaching, supervision, program management, and/or providing technical assistance is a plus.

Core Skills:  

  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
