Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Geosciences in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Geography to start in August 2025. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment.

We seek an individual specializing in dendrochronology (tree-ring dating) or in climatology, with experience in proxy data development and/or analysis, climatology, hydrology, or forest and environmental dynamics. Expertise in climatology is the minimum requirement. Experience with dendroclimatology is the preferred requirement, especially those candidates who apply one or more of these research areas to specific problems in the broadly defined geosciences, such as climate variability, climate change, water supply, and the socioeconomic impact of climate extremes.
