Software Engineer I

The Engineer I, Software is an entry-level professional who participates in creating and extending Omnicell products. This person is a software developer who can apply best practices to produce quality applications. This person applies their practical and theoretical knowledge from Computer Science or a related field to maintain our OmniCenter Platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement new features, improve existing functionalities, and ensure the reliability of our software solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software

• Participate in discussions and estimations required for product release planning

• Collaborate with a team of software engineers in all phases of software development

• Assist with code reviews for fellow team members, as required

• Understand how Omnicell solutions meet our customers' needs

• Work with Technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve 4th level escalations in a timely and professional manner.

 

Required Qualifications

• Entry level experience in software development:

  • Basic understanding of software development principles

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good interpersonal communication skills

 

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics or other Science/Engineering field

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry level experience in the following:

  • C# and the .NET Framework/.NET Core

  • JavaScript Frameworks (Angular, React, jQuery)

  • SQL Server and T-SQL

  • Microservices

• Healthcare Industry Experience 

• Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle management

• Understanding of Internationalization / Localization

• Understanding of Inventory / warehouse management

• Object oriented analysis, design, and programming (OOAD, OOP)

• Using design and refactoring patterns

 

Work Conditions

• Remote role with a high preference for candidates local to the Pittsburgh area

• Ability to travel 10% of the time

• Ability to pass background and employment verification checks
• Able to work from assigned location without housing or relocation assistance from Omnicell
