This is a terrific opportunity for a highly motivated individual to serve as a key team member on the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) brand team leading Scientific Strategy. A robust and informed Scientific Strategy is critically important in a rare disease like PAH. Every customer is unique and the PAH scientific leaders play a significant role in shaping the therapeutic landscape. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a demonstrated record of strong strategic thinking, ability to comprehend and translate complex scientific & clinical data and deliver results working cross-collaboratively and leading without authority.

As the PAH Health Care Professional Customer Agile Team (HCP CAT) Scientific Strategy Lead you will be responsible for developing scientific strategies and managing the execution of all key scientific and medical initiatives, including but not limited to Scientific Leader strategy and engagement, consultant service agreements (CSAs), congress planning, and medical education. This critical role will lead commercial activities that interface with external stakeholders, such as societies and scientific leaders, as well as internal stakeholders, including US & Global Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Outcomes Research.

Our U.S. marketing team has adopted an Agile operating model to be more adaptive and responsive to rapidly evolving customer needs and keep pace with the digital evolution in the marketplace. The Scientific Strategy Lead will participate on the (HCP CAT) to work cross functionally to lead Scientific Strategy for PAH. The Customer Agile Team consists of the Product Owner, marketers, and development team members.

This position will report to the PAH HCP CAT Product Owner, Director of Marketing, and will be based in the Upper Gwynedd, PA office in a hybrid capacity with an expectation of working on-site three days per week.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, Lead & Manage all scientific strategy for the PAH HCP marketing team

  • Lead all activities to develop a robust omnichannel medical education strategy tailored to the medical education needs of the PAH community by partnering with SLs, key enterprise stakeholders and the scientific agency of record to develop and execute an omnichannel medical education strategy

  • Act as the commercial lead and liaison for Group Input Meetings by collaborating with GEMS and Medical Affairs to plan and execute Group Input Meetings

  • Lead the oversight of all execution of the annual national and regional congress plan for PAH, including necessary resources and activities

  • Manage & lead the compliant execution of all Consultant Service Agreements (CSAs) in alignment with strategic scientific priorities

  • Incorporate learnings from Competitive Intelligence to continuously refine the scientific strategy based on real-time key insights regarding the brand, customers, and the marketplace

  • Collaborate with the PAH CAT, broader PAH marketing team, Medical Affairs and other key internal stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and holistic enterprise-aligned approach to scientific strategy

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (BA/BS)

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of healthcare industry experience, including at least 3 years in strategic marketing or Scientific Leader facing role

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, analytical critical thinking and planning skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data analytics and/or customer and market insights to make business decisions

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills as demonstrated through experience in strategy & marketing business case communication, sales interface, direct customer engagement and/or sales presentations. Strong leadership, experience influencing without direct authority, navigating complex or matrix organizations and working successfully with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to translate science/clinical data into marketing strategies, medical education and/or congress initiatives

  • Understanding of health care ecosystem

  • A growth mindset, strong collaboration and business agility

  • Demonstrates high degree of integrity and ethics

Preferred experience and skills:

  • MBA or Masters equivalent preferred

  • Experience working in PAH therapeutic space

  • Experience building relationships with external customers

  • Understanding of omnichannel
