Junior Project Manager/ Team Lead (USDA)

IT Concepts is looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the USDA, Forest Service PMOSS (Program Management Office Support Services). Our body of work includes delivering project management support for Human Resources Enterprise Solutions (HRES), a department within the agency's Human Resource Management Department. Team ITC ensures the oversight and upholds standards for all projects executed within HRES according to Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and FS HRES Project Management Office (PMO) governing principles.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Senior Project Manager in the development and maintenance of project plans and schedules.
• Coordinate project activities with Project Manager and ensure all team members are well-informed about project objectives, timelines, and expectations.
• Identify challenges that may impact the project timeline and scope and work with team to identify potential mitigation plans.
• Act as team lead for isolated tasks related to project execution and ensure delivery of quality service.
• Routinely interact with the client to understand business needs.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members.
• Create project documentation and artifacts in accordance with the PMO's guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with team members, complete work assignments, and execute next steps.
• Prepare and present regular project status briefing reports to the client.
• Gather and document all project results and report project outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Business or Computer Science with 3 years of project management experience OR 5 years of related experience.
• Proven ability to effectively lead project teams.
• Proven track record in strategic planning.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems creatively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of PMI and Project Management guidelines: project approach, processes, and procedures.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  

Preferred:

• Federal Human Resources/Human Capital experience.
  

Clearance Requirements:

• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
• US Citizenship required.
