Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                            

The Store General Manager (GM) In Training is responsible for establishing and maintaining best-of-class customer services in our retail store operations. The GM oversees and is accountable for total store operations - ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, inventory control, expense control, employee management, resource management, safety management, operating costs control, and overseeing all aspects of nursery sales, nursery production, nursery maintenance, and nursery organization.

The GM must be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals, and manage staff effectively. This position directly supervises Assistant Manager(s), Plant-Crew Manager(s), an Office Admin, and a Yard Superintendent, as well as overseeing the management of the rest of the store employees.

Our managers are high-capacity individuals, that handle Sales and Operations for 15 million + retail stores.

Candidates must reside or be able to relocate in one of the following market(s): Tampa/ St Pete, Clearwater, Sarasota, Naples, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Boca, Delray Beach, Jupiter, Melbourne, Port-St-Lucie, Orlando, Jacksonville..

Training Expectations:

1. First month: Onsite at corporate Moon Valley Nurseries, located in Scottsdale, AZ

2. Second month: Shadowing an existing GM

3. Third month: Performing as GM while being shadowed by existing Moon Valley Nurseries GM.

The Store General Manager (GM) In Training is a temporary role that is generally 90 days and is designed to train and assess the capabilities of future Store General Managers.  Those who successfully complete the training program will be transitioned into the General Manager position and assigned to a nursery.  Those who do not successfully complete the program, will either be separated from Moon Valley Nurseries or, if appropriate in Moon Valley Nurseries’ sole discretion and subject to availability, considered for another role.

Salary Range of General Manager role is base of $80k-$100k +commission + bonus potential with total compensation up to $200,000.

**Employees hired as General Managers in Training are not eligible to participate in any bonus or incentive programs until they have successfully completed the training program and have been officially assigned as the General Manager of a specific nursery location. Bonus eligibility will commence only upon the start date of such official assignment, and no retroactive bonuses will be awarded for time spent in training. Moon Valley Nurseries reserves the right to modify or discontinue any bonus or incentive program at its sole discretion, subject to applicable law.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                                            

• Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-through and audits, etc.
• Training and developing store management in all aspects of the business and directing and monitoring training and development for all store personnel.
• Analyzing and measuring store and area trends and developing and implementing plans based on those trends to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives.
• Continually evaluating and reacting to performance issues, conducting personnel performance appraisals, and actively recruiting, interviewing and hiring quality personnel.
