Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
This position provides administrative support for the Building Department and serves as the focal point of communication for customers and employees. The regular schedule is Monday – Thursday, 7:30 – 5:00, 36 hours/week, full-time with benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides information and customer assistance to inquiries via phone or walk-in including directing persons to the appropriate department.
- Generates reports for the Building Department, Road and Bridge, and Community Development Services.
- Processes invoices and payments for permits.
- Reviews applications, Processes invoices and fees for, and issues permits.
- Balances deposits.
- Receives calls/complaints and documents for assignment to appropriate staff for response.
- Performs routine clerical work in support of the department(s).
- Composes routine correspondence proofreading for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains files according to established methods and procedures.
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail and processes outgoing mail.
- Additional duties as requested.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills (Word/Excel).
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Minimum two years customer service experience.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must obtain a Permit Technician Certification in 9 months after the hire date.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- This is a safety-sensitive position that is subject to random drug testing.
