JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer
JOB LOCATION: 208 S Akard St., Dallas, TX 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]
DUTIES: AT&T Services, Inc., is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Dallas, TX [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to design, code, test, debug, and document new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality, and operational needs. Work with all phases of the software development life cycle, best practices, and Agile software development. Align development teams to a shared technical direction and partner to elaborate on the solution and its interfaces. Identify technical and functional needs of systems based on priority. Translate core architecture for business requirements into technical solutions through functional, performance and reliability analysis using software engineering principles and models. Establish critical NFRs at the solution level and participate in the definition of others. Drive and participate in code and document reviews. Interpret and translate business needs in technical requirements and accurate estimates. Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes. Enforce company policies in the areas of development methodology, architecture, security, change and configuration management and compliance. Perform complex engineering activities for web performance tuning, monitoring, deployment, and production support. Work within a team to troubleshoot code-level problems quickly and efficiently. Apply deep technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problems. Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software. Contribute to technical roadmaps and technical debt elimination through balancing time, resources, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirements. Build web applications using Java, Spring, and REST. Conduct performance tuning and application monitoring. Design systems using Microservices architecture. Utilize cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, and Terraform. Work with and build CI/CD technologies: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, and Sonar. Perform unit and function testing using Junit, Spock, Mockito, JMock, Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI, Postman, and Kotlin. Utilize Unix and Linux command lines. Work with asynchronous message processing, stream processing, and event driven computing. Work within Agile, Scrum, and Kanban development teams. Work with HTML5, JavaScript frameworks, and CSS3. Utilize messaging protocols: MQ, Rabbit MQ, Active MQ, Kafka and Zookeeper. Utilize SQL and No-SQL databases: Postgres, Oracle 11g, Casandra DB, MongoDB, and Redis.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or Information Systems and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation building web applications using Java, Spring, and REST; conducting performance tuning and application monitoring; designing systems using Microservices architecture; utilizing cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, and Terraform; working with and building CI/CD technologies: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, and Sonar; performing unit and function testing using Junit, Spock, Mockito, JMock, Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI, Postman, and Kotlin; utilizing Unix and Linux command lines; working with asynchronous message processing, stream processing, and event driven computing; working within Agile, Scrum, and Kanban development teams; working with HTML5, JavaScript frameworks, and CSS3; utilizing messaging protocols: MQ, Rabbit MQ, Active MQ, Kafka and Zookeeper; and utilizing SQL and No-SQL databases: Postgres, Oracle 11g, Casandra DB, MongoDB, and Redis.
