Columbus School for Girls (CSG) is an independent day school in Columbus, Ohio, founded in 1898, serving diverse students in grades preschool through grade 12. Job Summary: Columbus School for Girls seeks a dynamic, motivated individual to serve as Assistant Director of Admission to manage the admissions and enrollment process, as well as the transition of students and families to CSG. The Assistant Director of Admission supports the Director of Enrollment Management and the admission team in the planning, organization, and execution of all admission and retention-related events and activities. The Assistant Director also works closely with the divisional leadership teams to design and implement retention activities and initiatives that support the sustainment of enrolled students. An integral member of the admission team, they collaborate with members of the team and the internal and external CSG community to ensure a robust and equitable enrollment experience and to understand trends in the enrollment industry.
The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of the admissions process and a strategic mindset to drive enrollment initiatives that align with the school's mission and goals. The candidate will actively engage in admissions recruitment and pipeline management with the goal of strategically building and maintaining the student body. The Assistant Director will be invested in and understand the mission and purpose of the whole institution and the ways all divisions work together. This person will function as a critical member of a collaborative, fast-paced, goal-oriented admissions team, and will be eager to share ideas, engage in professional development, and be open to new and creative approaches.
Essential Duties:
The Assistant Director will represent the school, and must be able to:
- Articulate why, how, and what the CSG educational environment offers students; understand the benefits of an independent girls’ school education
- Identify and understand the features that are distinct in Preschool, Lower School, Middle School and Upper School programs to ensure continuity in matriculation
- Assist the Director of Enrollment Management in developing an outreach plan that defines clear strategies to research, identify and recruit families in accordance with the mission of CSG
- Cultivate and sustain mutually beneficial relationships with feeder schools and partner organizations to support the recruitment of mission-aligned families; represent the school at open houses, school visits, and fairs
- Plan and host on campus events including open houses, tours, interviews, playdates, classroom visits and more
- Be a relationship builder, developing and maintaining connection with prospective and enrolled families; communicate in a warm and genuine manner, both verbally and in writing, from inquiry to enrollment
- Coordinate admission process for applicants. Clearly articulate the steps of the application process, along with the value of a CSG education. Follow up with prospective families, interview applicant families, oversee admission testing, arrange family visits and tours, and communicate final admission decisions.
- Prepare application materials for committee review and take an active role in decision meetings, giving an informed overview of each applicant.
- Collaborate with division heads, teachers, and student support teams to develop protocols for student assessment and colleague feedback; use screening and placement processes that assess mission and program alignment
- Create, implement, and operate within systems that require organization, time management, and attention to detail; Prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently
- Effectively use the school database system (Veracross) for prospective family relationship management, process organization, and maintenance of online applications and electronic files. Create custom reports with the school database. Use Microsoft Office applications.
