Position Title: Senior Analyst, Operations Finance

Job Group: JG3

Job Description

The position will support MMS manufacturing operations and help drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in month-end close activities including preparing journal entries, perpetual inventory, vendor spend and PII reports.

  • Review monthly scrap/inventory adjustment for MMS plants in San Diego and Tijuana and ensure scrap/inventory adjustments transactions align with company policy.

  • Manage new SKU costing for MMS business unit.

  • Assist in the preparation of capital budget/forecasts, tracking capital spend and validating capital requests.

  • Support the plant controller and team in the development of annual costing, budget package, quarterly forecasts.

  • Support MMS US freight out Forecast/Budget/month-end close related items.

  • Support MMS Data Center/sustaining engineering Forecast/Budget/month-end close related items.

  • Document understanding of source documentation, research variances, and propose corrections.

  • Review journal entries/account reconciliations prepared by Operation Finance Analyst.

  • Participate in various teams’ related activities to ensure proper SOX controls and compliance with Company policies and GAAP.

  • Apply Accounting and costing knowledge to solve standard and non-standard problems.

  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent field. 

  • Relevant finance or accounting experience with a focus on financial analysis, month end close, and reporting required.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

  • Strong proficiency of Microsoft Office (Excel – including v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.).

  • BPC and SAP experience preferred.

  • Cost accounting experience preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating insightful and actionable reporting and analysis.

  • Ability to go beyond the numbers, discern trends, determine the root cause of variances, and consider the broad business implications in helping identify opportunities and improve performance.

  • Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures – GAAP/IFRS 

Initiative/Adaptability

  • Self-starter who can think and work independently.

  • Highly responsive, with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Ability to adapt, learn quickly and work independently on multiple competing projects and deadlines.
