Production Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for maintaining and inspecting raw grinding, finish grinding, raw materials blending, calcining, clinker cooling, coal mill, and auxiliary equipment to ensure proper operating condition. Also assists in the operation of equipment.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Makes regular visual inspections of weighing equipment to check that it is functioning properly as well as checks to see that materials are properly flowing from crushed stone and raw materials storage to raw grinding mills, blending silos and kiln.

• Scaling of the preheater tower and kiln inlet.

• Controls material flow by operating valves, slides and gates as directed by the Shift Supervisor.

• Measures contents of bins, tanks and silos and reports levels to the Shift Supervisor or Control Room Operator as required

• Starts auxiliary motor as directed by Control Room Operator.

• Makes regular visual inspections of raw grinding, finish grinding, blending, clinker burning and cooling, material conveying and coal mill equipment to see that they are functioning properly.  Reports malfunctions and repair problems to Production Supervisor and Control Room Operator

• Performs minor repairs to equipment.

• Assists maintenance and repair personnel in repair of equipment.

• Cleans assigned areas.  

• Mixes finish grinding additives when necessary.

• Exchanges information with preceding and succeeding Production Teams regarding current operating conditions.

• Inspects equipment and reports any malfunctions and repair issues to Supervisor

• Exchanges information with Supervisors regarding current operating conditions.

• Operation of wheel loader, skid steer, articulated haul truck, 10 wheel dump truck, 6 wheel dump truck, forklift and manlift.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Education:   High School or GED

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
