We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Cost Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost reporting, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting manufacturing and operational decision-making. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining a robust cost accounting system that drives profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead process cost accounting and ensure accurate reporting of Cost of Goods Manufactured and Sold.
  • Support strategic initiatives by preparing scenario analyses for expanding internal manufacturing.
  • Proactively communicate cost variances and opportunities to Manufacturing and Operations teams.
  • Maintain and update landed cost standards; analyze and adjust variances regularly.
  • Develop and track metrics for major cost drivers.
  • Develop standard unit costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in monthly financial reporting.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure inventory control integrity and accuracy.
  • Maintain and reconcile perpetual inventory across all categories.
  • Coordination and review of annual physical inventory and daily cycle counts
  • Enhance documentation and controls in alignment with SOX compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Present cost insights and risks to senior leadership.
  • Lead the annual manufacturing cost budgeting process.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial processes.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and audit support is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish a plus).
