Job Title: Business Analyst – eCommerce Replatforming (Contract or Full-Time)
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly experienced Business Analyst to join a large-scale, multi-persona eCommerce replatforming project. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional teams, has a deep understanding of eCommerce ecosystems, and can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution.
You’ll play a critical role in mapping business needs, documenting detailed functional specifications, and helping ensure successful delivery across multiple teams including product, engineering, marketing, and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead discovery sessions to gather detailed business and technical requirements from stakeholders with varying levels of expertise
· Translate business requirements into clear, actionable functional and technical specifications (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, etc.)
· Conduct gap analysis, customer journey mapping, and stakeholder interviews for multi-persona systems (e.g., B2B, B2C, D2C)
· Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Architects, Developers, QA, and UX teams to ensure alignment on features and scope
· Document current state vs future state system diagrams, data flows, and integration points (ERP, CRM, OMS, Payment, etc.)
· Assist in developing UAT scripts and support user acceptance testing
· Monitor project milestones, surface blockers, and provide solutions-oriented input for resolving business/technical gaps
· Provide input and validation on wireframes, prototypes, and system configuration based on requirements
Must-Have Qualifications:
· 3+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst on eCommerce replatforming projects (e.g., Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento, etc.)
· Strong understanding of digital commerce workflows: cart/checkout, catalog management, product configuration, pricing logic, order flow, inventory, and customer segmentation
· Proficient with business analysis tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Figma, Lucidchart, and Excel
· Experience with API-based integrations, headless commerce, and SaaS architecture
· Ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives
Preferred Qualifications:
· Background in ERP or OMS integrations (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SkuVault, Brightpearl)
· Experience with B2B and multi-channel personalization logic
· Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (ADA, GDPR, CCPA) in eCommerce
· Experience working with offshore or distributed development teams
