POSITION OVERVIEW:

Disc Medicine is hiring a new Director, Compliance to promote and enhance the compliance program at Disc. The successful candidate will partner closely with all departments including commercial, medical, market access, and R&D to ensure the successful and compliant launch of our late-stage therapeutic assets. Reporting to the VP, Legal and Chief Compliance Officer, the Director, Compliance will work with all levels of employees, including senior management. The role requires sound judgment and flexibility to support the highly regulated and compliant business with meaningful opportunities for professional development and career growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner across all departments to identify and mitigate compliance risks and guide compliant business practices
  • Contribute to enhancement of Disc’s compliance program, including by developing policies and trainings and supporting monitoring efforts
  • Conduct compliance training for commercial teams to ensure understanding of regulatory requirements and ethical standards
  • Support development of key processes and programs, such as transparency reporting and learning management system
  • Enhance compliance culture by becoming a trusted compliance business partner
  • Promote effective cross-functional initiatives, including through advising on appropriate cross-functional interactions
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of key laws, regulations, and industry guidance, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Federal Sunshine Act, and various state laws and industry guidance (e.g., PhRMA Code)

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS degree required; master’s or other advanced degree a plus
  • 10+ years experience in compliance department in pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in creating and enhancing compliance programs
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with commercial teams to achieve business goals while mitigating compliance risks
  • Experience supporting product launches and navigating the complexities of commercialization in the healthcare sector is highly preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10- 25% of the time
