Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Mid-level Air Quality Scientist III to join our growing EHS & Air group within our Environmental business line. This position requires the candidate to work onsite in Beaumont, TX.   

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: 

  • Perform a variety of tasks in support of air quality project staff and operation of several air quality monitoring networks. 
  • Work outdoors at multiple client locations to install, maintain, and repair air measurement instrumentation. 
  • May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisors, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites. 
  • Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation. 
  • Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories under supervision. 
  • Must be able to work independently. 
  • May occasionally interface with clients.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field. 
  • 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in air quality compliance and in maintaining/repairing electronic instrumentation. 
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s license required for this role. 
  • Due to the nature of this role, U.S Citizenship is required. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in air quality compliance and in maintaining/repairing electronic instrumentation. 
  • Valid TWIC card. 
  • Prior experience with Gas Chromatography is highly desired. 
  • Computer skills with software installation and basic troubleshooting.

  • Relocation will not be offered for this position.
