Basic Function (Purpose of Position):
To stage raw materials for production and execute all transactions in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
Job Description- Job Specifications
- Handles containers, drums and pails of material. Operates forklifts and other powered material handling equipment.
- Utilizes desktop, vehicle-mounted, and hand-held computers for receiving instructions and real-time inventory updates.
- Exhibits proficiency in all functions of two of the key areas (Sector 0 Material Handling, S1 & S2 Material Handling and Fixed Bin & Robot Replenishments).
- Prepares material kits for compounding as required per the SOP.
- Evaluates raw materials in warehouses and production areas and submits questionable raw materials to Quality Control.
- Maintains neat, orderly and clean shop floor and workplace at all times.
- Works in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and adheres to internal policies.
- Performs other duties as required.
- With a minimum of 2 years working in the Material Handler level and a score of 90% or more on the skill test, employees will be afforded the opportunity to qualify for the Advanced Material Handler.
Minimum Education/Experience/Skills/Job Knowledge/:
High School diploma or equivalent required, with basic math, reading and record-keeping skills. Minimum of 1 year experience in computerized warehouse and real-time data collection and valid forklift license required (can be obtained on the job). Familiarity with inventory systems, bar-coding experience preferred. Must be able to follow written and flow-charted instructions.

Working Conditions:
Working conditions may include exposure to dust and/or fumes from raw materials and finished products.
Effect of Errors:
Improper storage of raw materials may result in product spoilage. Failure to move materials in a timely manner may result in production delays. Failure to operate equipment in a safe manner may result in injury to self or others.
Physical Demands/Dexterity:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and maneuver minimum of 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums with proper material handling equipment. Must be able to operate material handling equipment safely and comply with GMPs.
