About the Role: As an In-Home Academic & Social-Emotional Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Riverside, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Riverside, CA
• Schedule: Weekdays 3pm onwards
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with students with Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities
• Background in special education, ABA, or related fields preferred
• Skilled in supporting social-emotional learning (SEL) and helping students express their feelings in a safe, structured environment
• Comfortable using conversation, play, and interest-based engagement to build trust and emotional growth
• Patient, encouraging, and creative in adapting materials and instructional strategies
• Strong communication skills, especially in supporting SEL and relationship-building
• Female tutor preferred by family
• Able to work independently and adjust instruction based on student response

Key Responsibilities:

• Support foundational literacy (reading and basic writing) and early math skills
• Help develop expressive communication through casual conversation and targeted SEL strategies
• Incorporate short conversational breaks to build trust and encourage emotional expression
• Use positive reinforcement and simple reward systems to maintain motivation
• Adapt instruction to align with IEP goals and current therapy supports
• Engage student through interests to make learning enjoyable
