Materials Management Analyst

We have a great opportunity for a motivated self-starter in our Material Supply Group (MST). The Material Supply group, within Supply Chain, is primarily responsible for inventory management, procurement, and partnering with our Mill team to secure on time delivery of paperboard to our folding carton plants for our Americas group.

The Materials Management Analyst should have excellent analytical skills and be comfortable both compiling large amounts of data and utilizing it to make decisions. This position’s responsibilities include effectively and efficiently meeting internal and external customer needs, expectations, and requirements; as well as using data to drive for solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Mill Scheduling & Inventory Management:

  • Partner with supply chain, mill personnel, and operations to optimize mill efficiency, transportation costs, and run strategies.
  • Align material supply strategies with broader sales and operations forecasts to ensure seamless production planning and execution.
  • Support new business growth by ensuring the ability to quickly respond to raw material needs and adjust supply strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with internal teams to maximize on-time delivery (OTIF), minimize board inventory and transportation costs, and reduce plant downtime.
  • Develop and maintain Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to optimize raw material levels at converting facilities.
  • Utilize SAP MRP systems and Kinaxis RapidResponse to support plants in acquiring paperboard for production orders and customer service reservations.
  • Reduce aged and obsolete inventory by ensuring manufacturing facilities receive the correct raw materials, balancing cost-effectiveness with customer demand.
  • Support inventory management initiatives using monthly paperboard usage reporting.

Technology & Data Analysis:

  • Utilize SAP, Kinaxis RapidResponse, QlikView, and Microsoft Office (Excel) for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Manage and interpret large datasets to drive effective supply chain decisions.
