Client Engineering Lead
As Experian Marketplace continues to expand our strategic partnerships with our lender-partners, creating more transparency into campaign performance and access to actionable insights is critical. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in building out a self-service lender platform that leverages unique Experian data elements to deliver real value to partners. We are looking for a data-driven individual who can translate complex data into business-user-friendly analytics and thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

This position will be supporting the Experian Consumer Services - a passionate and innovative team with a mission to provide Financial Power to All™. Our portfolio offers credit education and identity protection solutions to consumers and helps businesses manage the impact of a data breach.
What you’ll be doing
The Client Modeling Consultant’s primary responsibility is to support financial institutions in the development and deployment of custom models, and ensure that they are fully leveraging the capabilities of the marketplace resources. We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with a Credit Risk Modeling background. This role will allow a motivated individual to contribute a growing team at Experian, with the goal of supporting key partners in their modeling efforts. This individual will not only support partners, but also internal product teams and act as a necessary link between the two.
- Work with both internal and external data science teams to integrate and build models on the platform, as well as optimize additional criteria/business logic.
- Build strong relationships with individuals of financial institutions that hold varying positions in different business units.
- Understand the capabilities of the Experian Marketplace and client platform in order to consult with partners on best practices and capabilities.
- Work closely with product leaders to support partner onboarding and provide feedback to improve partner support models, product enhancements, and model requirements.
- Optimize and guide the partner model building, validation, and deployment process in order to achieve success across the business unit.
Qualifications
What your background looks like
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Math, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline from an accredited college or university. Advanced Degree (Ph.D./MS) in preferred
- 7+ years of experience in statistical analysis and modeling especially with consumer credit underwriting, customer segmentation, and customer valuations.
- Experience in managing relationships, partnering with credit bureaus, media technologies, or other third-party data providers/sources. Should be comfortable working with both internal and external teams.
- Experience in working at financial institutions offering Credit Card, Personal Loan, Auto Loan, and Mortgage credit products
- Expert knowledge of Python and SQL. Proficiency with R or similar industry standard tools used for large-scale data analysis and modeling strongly preferred.
- Self-motivated, team player, enthusiastic, and a creative thinker.
