Job Description
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems in Syracuse, NY is seeking an Summer 2026 System Engineer Intern.
In this role, you will:
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications
• Working towards a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or equivalent STEM field
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
Desired skills
• Knowledge of system design, requirements definition and documentation
• Familiarity with SysML and Model-Based Systems Engineering toolsets (Cameo, Rhapsody)
•Familiarity with Analyst Tools such as MATLAB
• Basic knowledge and experience with VMware, virtual servers, Linux, including shell scripting;
• Knowledge of system verification/test documentation and conduct
• Experience troubleshooting hardware/software deficiencies
• Ability to work in a cross-functional Agile team

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
