About the role
- Build and lead a specific country and business focused Trade Loan & Customer Credit team
- Manage credit assessment and trade loan related activities for the relevant country/business supported by the team to ensure the requested change is aligned with BP Delegation of Authority and with the Lubes Credit and Trade Loan Policies.
- Accountable for building capability and supporting change within the team in the drive for an operational excellence, professional business partnering & compliance
- Support via active involvement any operational tasks performed by the team members
- Coach and develop members of the team from the technical and soft skills point of view and coordinate team activities
- All active customers to have a valid credit review in place, an assigned BP risk rating and an assigned CL in the system
- Ensure customers are trading within the assigned credit limit level
- Ensure timely management of blocked order cases
- Ensure periodic credit reviews are performed in line with the Downstream Credit Process requirements / Credit Policy
- Ensure that Trade Loan proposals are prepared validated & submitted for approval in compliance with BP financial guidelines and the Trade Loan Policy (eg IRR, Credit Risk, DoA)
In this role You will
Business & Execution
- Lead and oversee all credit analysis and trade loan activities, ensuring accurate and timely management reporting.
- Partner closely with the business through regular meetings to stay aligned on market developments, strategies, and customer needs.
- Ensure clear GBS ownership and accountability.
Partner Management
- Manage relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring issues are addressed effectively and on time.
Systems & Process Support
- Maintain solid understanding of relevant ERP systems and support related enhancements and developments.
- Supervise key indicators, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to maintain BAU.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly and quarterly reporting.
Operational Excellence
- Deliver high-quality customer service in line with indicators and SLAs.
- Support individual, team, and organizational targets.
- Maintain compliance with company, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Highlight trade investment credit risks to the Commercial Executive.
Projects & Transitions
- Actively support and contribute to credit/trade loan-related projects.
- Ensure smooth and successful transitions in collaboration with transition managers and collaborators.
Governance & Compliance
- Support strategic target setting and execution.
- Ensure effective resource management and backup structures.
- Maintain audit compliance with proper analytical backup for Trade Loan GL accounts.
People Leadership
- Balance team workload and prevent backlogs.
- Coach and develop team members.
- Hold regular team and participant meetings to align on priorities and results.
- Foster a positive, passionate team culture through engagement, training, and team events.
What You will need to be successful
- University Degree or equivalent experience preferred (in Economics or related fields) or other Graduation in Economics (High School)
- Customer Relationship management, Account Receivable or Cash Collection/Finance
