Focus of the role

As Head of Digital Infrastructure, Investment and Transactions within Telstra International, you play a critical role in leading a high performing team focussed on the development of compelling investments to grow sales, revenue and customer service targets and promote Telstra’s products and services. You thrive on leveraging your awesome leadership and interpersonal skills to influence others and embed a customer-first mindset across the team and our organisation.

This role is open to the following locations:  Los Angeles, California; San Francisco, California; and Boulder, Colorado.

Salary range: 225,000 – 275,000 USD + eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.

What You’ll Do

As Head of Digital Infrastructure Investment and Transactions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our network.  You will lead a high-performing team responsible identifying, evaluating, and securing strategic Infrastructure investments and partnerships. 

In your capacity as a member of Strategy, Risk and Corporate Development senior leadership team, your responsibilities include:

  • Infrastructure Investment Strategy: Developing a comprehensive network investment strategy that aligns with our long-term growth objectives and industry trends. This includes identifying new technologies, infrastructure needs, and capacity requirements.

  • Deal Origination & Execution: Sourcing and leading the negotiation and execution of strategic network investment deals and partnerships. This could involve joint ventures, fiber optic cable deployments, subsea cable projects, and other network infrastructure initiatives.

  • Financial Acumen: Conducting thorough financial analysis to ensure the profitability and strategic value of potential network investments.

  • Business Development: Developing and executing business development initiatives to expand our network reach, forge new partnerships, and secure access to emerging technologies.

  • Team Leadership: Building, leading and motivating a high-performing team of professionals with expertise in network engineering, finance, legal affairs, and business development.

  • Stakeholder Management: Maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across various departments, including engineering, finance, and sales. Effectively communicating network investment strategies and progress to senior management.

About You

To be successful in the role, you’ll need:

  • A proven track record of success in network investment, business development, or a related field within the Digital Infrastructure environment.

  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, technologies, and market trends.

  • An understanding of subsea, routes and nuances between subsea & fiber

  • Excellent financial acumen with the ability to assess the viability and profitability of network investments.

  • Experience in negotiating and closing complex
