Position: Hospice Social Worker MSW

Location: Benton Franklin County

Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Anticipated Schedule:  Five days per week, Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with a rotating weekend shift. 


Compensation

Hiring Range:  $33.00/hour - $39.69/hour

Position Pay Range: $33.00/hour - $47.42/hour

Premiums:

  • $2.50/hour Weeknight
  • $2.25/hour Weekend Day
  • $4.75/hour Weekend Night
  • $4.00/hour On Call Standby

Position Overview:


Under the supervision of the Social Work Supervisor or the Director of Community Care, the Hospice Social Worker (MSW) is responsible for the delivery of varied social work services to Hospice patients and their families in homes, facilities, and at Hospice House. This position provides initial biopsychosocial evaluations, ongoing psychosocial support, direct case management services, bereavement services, and community education, outreach, and referral. The Hospice Social Worker (MSW) is an integral part of the Hospice interdisciplinary team.


Minimum Qualifications:


  1. Master's Degree in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  2. One (1) year of post-education social work experience in a health care or hospice setting.
  3. Demonstrated ability in case management, counseling, and group work.
  4. Ability to work flexible hours, such as occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed for patient care and operational needs.
  5. This position is designated as safety-sensitive and will require pre-employment drug testing, which includes cannabis testing in WA State.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bilingual in Spanish.
  2. Experience in a hospice or healthcare setting.
  3. Experience in assisting clients and patients navigate benefits systems such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, Medicaid, COPES, and others.
