This RN position requires 12 months of previous RN work expereince. It is Day/Night rotating, 12 hour shifts, every third weekend. This position is located on the Inpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit located at the Children's Seashore House at CHOP.
Our Rehabilitation Unit at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is an 18-bed unit that is built on a foundation of delivering safe, high quality, family centered care that has fostered medical discoveries and innovations that have improved pediatric healthcare. Our Rehabilitation Unit specializes in treating children recovering from brain injury, stroke, spinal cord or orthopedic trauma, neuromuscular and more, empowering them and their families through intensive evidence-based care. After an illness, surgery or injury, rehabilitation helps patients regain strength, skills and function in order to reach their fullest potential. Recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its excellent care, the unit offers interdisciplinary treatment tailored to each child’s needs from nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapy to neuropsychology, integrative health, and child life programs.

Ranging from advanced beginners to expert practitioners, our nurses coordinate all facets of patient care, collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals, and can progress to managing the most complex cases in their clinical area.

Responsibilities
Deliver family-centered care guided by CHOP’s Nursing Professional Practice Model.
Develop, evaluate, and revise patients’ plans of care throughout their hospitalization.
Gather and analyze data to inform the care team and delegate tasks.
Promote excellent patient outcomes by adhering to evidence-based practices, nursing standards, and safety procedures.
Identify and address safety concerns or ethical dilemmas with unit leadership.
Develop effective partnerships with the interdisciplinary care team.
Adopt healthcare technology and clinical practice changes in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain CEUs for nursing licensure and comply with annual nursing competencies and mandatory education.
Education
Required: Technical diploma- Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor's degree- Nursing
Experience
Required: At least one (1) year RN experience
Preferred: Prior experience in pediatrics or area of specialty
