Our technology-forward omnichannel and API-first solution allows any merchant to offer protection plans, both online and in store, while also providing a merchant's end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters. More recently, Extend also launched a shipping protection solution, covering consumers in the case of lost, damaged or stolen packages. This is further expanding the company’s addressable market and value creation for merchants.

Position Title:                       Senior Software Engineer I

Position Location:                353 Sacramento Street, Suite 2200, San Francisco, CA 94111                                                                      

Hours:                                    Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Salary range:                         $216,000 - $236,000 per year

 

Summary of Duties: 

• Design and implement event-driven systems with AWS Serverless technologies.
• Collaborate with members of the engineering, product and design teams to deliver enhancements compatible with the existing platform.
• Influence the overall architecture and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
• Identify areas to improve and scale architecture and application design.
• Develop robust solutions to manage data, APIs and other critical back-end features.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology Management, or closely related field or foreign equivalent plus 5 years’ experience in software development or software engineering, or closely related position

 

SPECIAL SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Position can be performed remotely anywhere in the U.S.

Experience must include: 

1. Performing programming with Javascript and TypeScript
2. Building distributed, highly available, scalable cloud based systems
3. Perform API development with HTTP, REST, and JSON.
4. Perform data modeling and data management.
