Tax Department:
As the centralized engine for tax compliance the Roivant Tax team is responsible for: 1) keeping compliant with tax responsibilities in the countries in which we operate; 2) accurately computing our tax provision for inclusion in our quarterly and annual financial statements; and 3) providing tactical and strategic tax planning support for business initiatives.
Position Summary:
The tax manager will be responsible for supporting the company’s tax compliance, and reporting, and planning activities. This role involves ensuring adherence to tax regulations, modelling impacts of tax strategies, and coordinating with external advisors and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Review preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns and information reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax-related documents and reports.
- Tax Provision Management:
- Preparation and/or review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 (formerly FAS 109) and other relevant accounting standards.
- Ensure accurate calculation of current and deferred tax assets and liabilities.
- Review and analyze tax provision workpapers, including tax adjustments and deferred tax calculations.
- Implement best practices for tax provision and financial reporting.
- Audit and Documentation:
- Prepare SOX documentation associated with financial statement provision.
- Coordinate with financial statement auditors.
- Prepare for and manage tax audits, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and available.
- Address and resolve any audit findings or issues.
- Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax positions and minimize liabilities.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the tax provision process and financial reporting.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to provide guidance on complex tax issues.
- Advise on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and strategies.
- Indirect Tax Compliance:
- Manage the preparation and filing of indirect tax returns, including VAT, sales tax, excise duties, and other applicable taxes.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all indirect tax regulations and requirements across different jurisdictions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of indirect tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and to identify potential opportunities or risks.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support business decisions and ensure tax efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation to support indirect tax compliance and audit requirements.
- Process Management:
- Coordinate with team members and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax compliance.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in tax management or a similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in OneSource Tax Provision software.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
