Chevron Phillips Chemical is currently seeking an HR Business Partner to join our team at our Sweeny/Old Ocean Facilities in Sweeny, Texas. Responsibilities of the open position includes full-scale HR Generalist support associated with manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will report to the local Human Resources Manager and be involved in the development and implementation of strategic HR programs in partnership with the plant leadership and corporate HR teams. The HR Business Partner plays a critical role in supporting the plant site’s day to day operations, partnering with all levels of Operational Leadership to attract, retain and sustain our most important asset, our people. This role includes HR projects and assignments outside of the normal day-to-day HR Business Partnerships with Operations, such as playing a key role in HR initiatives including employee and or labor relations, workforce planning, recruiting/staffing, organizational development, talent/performance management, diversity/inclusion, compensation, regulatory compliance, employee communications, public affairs and other projects/duties as assigned. At times, the successful candidate may have the delegation of the HR Manager.
This is a dynamic role whereby the HR Business partner can apply strategic thinking in their day-to-day work, partner with all levels of leadership to drive change through influence and impact the organization on many levels. We are seeking a roll-up your sleeves, can-do attitude to join our HR Team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of related HR Business Partner experience
- A team-oriented focus, leadership skills and strong business acumen are important for success in this position
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure strategic alignment of HR initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to work in and manage ambiguity, dealing with issues that do not always have a process or a system in place with the capability to help define the process
- Ability to interact with and present information to all levels of employees including senior leaders
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically related to HR business plan implementation
- Demonstrated ability to manage the design and implementation of HR programs and services, including experience in leading and/or participating in cross-functional project teams
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including ability to create presentations appropriate for use with senior leaders
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to utilize data to drive decision making
- Must be proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience with ERP system
- Flexibility to relocate to other Houston Metropolitan area CPChem facilities in the future
- Negotiation skills to include analytical and problem-
