Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, review, and posting of fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
- Support lease accounting processes, including entries for new leases, modifications, and monthly amortization
- Coordinate with BPO team to validate journal entries and provide review feedback as needed
- Track technology capital projects and ensure proper classification of spend in alignment with capitalization policies
- Assist in reconciling fixed asset and lease-related accounts in Blackline; research and resolve reconciling items
- Maintain asset subledger accuracy and ensure appropriate tagging and categorization of capitalized items
- Partner with Capital acquisition and Procurement teams to gather supporting documentation for entries related to vendor payments, service agreements, or capital purchases
- Assist with the preparation of monthly close checklists, trackers, and recurring reporting packages
- Support audit requests by pulling Blackline documentation, preparing JE support, and assisting with walkthroughs
- Assist in maintaining and improving close documentation, reconciliation standards, and recurring processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a publicly traded company or a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and transparency.
Additional Information
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the Englewood Cliffs office, a minimum of three days per week.
- Must be willing to work in the Englewood Cliffs, NJ office.
