Pact Group’s Contract Manufacturing Division manufactures across several operational sites and supplies a wide range of homecare and Personal-Care categories to all the major retailers and global FMCG brand owners.
About this opportunity
Highly motivated with a drive to succeed, the Purchasing Officer will be responsible for monitoring and replenishment of packaging and raw materials on a timely basis for the Personal Care business.
A key member of the Supply Chain team, you will manage and assist in contract and supplier administration, working collaboratively with internal departments and vendors to ensure orders and stock are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
As a part of this collegiate team, you will ensure a high level of customer service to deliver the best outcome for the business and customer.

Your key responsibilities will be:
- Monitoring stock levels and pro-actively identify purchasing requirements.
- Runing relevant SAP reports to action rescheduling and cancellations of PO’s
- Occasional negotiation of terms/pricing. Arrange quotations as required and process invoices for import and local purchasing.
- Participating in cycle meetings to ascertain production, NPD and customer requirements
- Identifying areas for improvement and implement new processes within the purchasing function
- Adequately managing and reviewing excess/obsolete stock levels
- Ensuring suppliers are adhering to performance levels.
- Liaising with the accounts team to coordinate supplier payments schedule/agreements
Your skills and experience
- To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Visible and demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace, “Toward Zero Harm
- Tertiary Qualifications in Supply Chain/Finance or related discipline is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel – Intermediate) and SAP is essential
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Can-do attitude, a deep sense of ownership and an unflinching desire to see a task through to finish
- Excellent communication (verbal and written, able to adapt to audience)
- Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail and accuracy
Understanding of production planning, manufacturing lead times, production capacity and limitations would be advantageous or a desire to move your career in this direction
