The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
The position will provide technical planning for the Ground Systems Support (GSS) work management group supporting multiple programs for National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA).
Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
· Support manufacturing and fabrication activities located in the Launch Equipment Shop (LES) on Kennedy Space Center.
· Collaborate with Design Engineering, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management and Work Management to ensure timely execution and delivery of quality products.
· Identify and verify all necessary shop supplies, job materials, hardware, components, special tooling, access requirements, and additional support required to ensure timely execution of work.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Here's What You'll Need:
The candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least four (4) years of relevant experience. A background in manufacturing, fabrication, and production planning is highly desirable.

Job Requirements
· Possess defined customer service skills, required for interaction to discuss technical job requirements.
· Exhibit excellent communication skills, both orally and written.
· Must be able to quickly master new computerized tools for technical plan development.
· Must be able to read and follow work instructions, interpret engineer drawings/schematics, plan technical tasks/activities, follow strict work area rules and safety protocols.
· Possess basic knowledge of computers to input and retrieve data. Some experience in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
· Must be able to support shift work, weekends and reasonable overtime when required.
· Must possess excellent communication skills.
