Summary
This Junior Marine Mechanic will support the Carrier Engineering Material Assist Team (CEMAT). This candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various auxiliary equipment with a focus on Galley and Laundry equipment. This is a full-time position, located in San Diego, CA.
What You Will Do
- Troubleshoot and repair various auxiliary equipment with a focus on Galley and Laundry equipment.
- Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.
- Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
- May provide onsite training of customer support personnel. Applies understanding of production and processes to assignments.
- May assist in the development and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
- Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
What You Must Have

High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience.

Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

Must have experience with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) oven repair training.

Must have experience working on Food, Service and Laundry (FSL) equipment onboard CVNs.

Experience troubleshooting and maintaining water heaters and ship service steam system.

Must have knowledge of Navy 3M.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to obtain a DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain base and ship access.
Preferred: Bonus Points For
- Experience working with CEMAT is an added plus.
- A current, valid DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or oveApply for this role
