Trade Support Associate Director

Position Overview

Apollo Insurance Solutions Group (“AISG”) is searching for an ISG Middle Office Associate Director to join its operations division. AISG is a rapidly growing investment advisor focused on managing investments for insurance and reinsurance company clients. AISG is currently responsible for managing over $250 billion in AUM across a broad spectrum of predominantly fixed income assets (including public and private corporate debt, MBS, commercial and residential mortgages, ABS, bank loans), as well as alternative investments, equities, and derivatives.

The ISG Middle Office Associate Director is responsible for change management, serve as an escalation point for the business and the broader enterprise solution teams, and the day-to-day management of various functions within the team.  The Middle Office team has responsibilities across trade confirmation, trade notification, settlement, liquidity, and collateral management processes across at Apollo Insurance Solutions Group (“AISG”). The ISG Middle Office Associate Director will also provide support for ISG’s SOC-1 and SOX controls and audit requests and will work closely with the broader operations team in Apollo Global Management in support of our business. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate and maintain service level with the Operations team in Apollo Global Management

• Serve as owner for ISG’s SOC 1 and SOX control procedures. Consistently review controls to ensure they are applicable to current processes.

• Stay abreast of market conditions and the changing landscape of regulations and/or significant market events that have the potential to impact or change AISG's operating model.

• Ensure the collateral management processing activity is executed in an accurate, complete, and timely manner

• Monitor and review all investment activity to ensure all transactions are executed in accordance with AISG’s internal control framework and regulatory requirements.

• Work with senior management to continually improve all processes, procedures, and practices to enhance team efficiency and productivity.

• Assist the Accounting Operations team with all position and transaction reconciliation discrepancies relating to functions and processes supported by the Middle Office

• Train and evaluate performance of team members while actively coaching, developing, and encouraging creativity in support of the company’s core capabilities and core competencies.

• Identify risk and implement mitigation strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (Academic, Professional, Relevant Job Knowledge)

• 7 – 10 years of experience working in a financial institution (asset management firm, hedge fund, etc.)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Economics

• Detail-oriented, well-organized and ability to demonstrate sound judgement.

• Communicates professionally and constructively to effectively resolve issues to minimize risk.

• Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and changing priorities.

• Familiarity with fixed income securities and Alternatives market

• Ability to work well on teams and in fast-paced, cross-collaborative environments.

• Ability to think ahead, anticipate questions, plan for contingencies, and find alternative solutions.

• Success in navigating and thriving in a dynamic, growing business.

• Proven track record of driving innovation through curiosity and comprehensive understanding of business processes and challenges

• Be a change agent or have change management experience.

Pay Range

121,500-175,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
