We are seeking a seasoned military sales professional with in-depth market and industry knowledge in the DoD and international government and defense market segments.  Proven performance in building and successfully achieving a global sales plan, driving key strategic objectives, and managing a global organization are just a few of the key attributes we are looking for.  You will have the responsibility to grow the Services business by successfully leading your organization to prospect new business, develop and execute platform/pursuit strategies, and close highly complex deals. As the leader of the team, you will also be responsible for development and talent management of your organization.  Our people are our greatest assets, and the leader of this team needs to be relentlessly focused on developing talent to ensure we have best-in-class sales people representing us around the world.  

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Acts as contact with large/global customers; develop professional relationships with key leadership across our customer base with the purpose of understanding customer requirements and creating multi-tiered relationships at our most important customers.
    • Considered an expert within the organization. Leveraging wide-ranging experiences, this role identifies and drives strategic objectives, collaborates with Strategy and ensures Services Marketing is creating content and/or marketing plans to meet/support strategic objectives. 
    • Coaches sales team thru complex pursuits/customer issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors to come up with an optimal solution for the customer and Collins Aerospace.
    • Develops and manages people development plans for all personnel in the organization – focused on building/supplementing critical skillsets (salesmanship, negotiation skills, strategic mindset, etc.), identifies key development opportunities and regularly engages in development conversations to ensure team is fully engaged and provided with robust training plans.
    • Develops a robust 5 year orders pipeline to support the needs of our Military Services business, as well as provides accurate and timely orders forecasting to leadership on a monthly basis.  Assesses orders opportunities and risks to the plan and creates robust action plans.
    • Coordinates with other business units where applicable to maximize sales opportunities and customer satisfaction including but not limited to MAH in Avionics, Mission Systems, and Defense Aftermarket (central function)
    • Participate in key tradeshows/meetings and promote Collins Aerospace brand and solutions where appropriate

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements  
  • Willingness and ability to travel in excess of 50%
  • Prior experience in the DoD, international military/government markets
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) knowledge and background 
  • Key contacts at major OEMs, Defense agencies, and maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) service providers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proven performance in meeting and exceeding sales plans
  • Strong leadership style, passion for people development
  • An advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience in aftermarket sales and support 
  • Experience dealing with Airframe OEMs, the US DoD
