As the Revenue & AR Accounting Manager, you’ll report to the Accounting Lead and play an integral role in preparing our monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. You’ll take ownership of revenue-related accounting processes, including research and documentation of complex transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
This role offers the opportunity to manage and improve existing workflows while working closely with cross-functional teams. You'll be a key partner to business leaders as we continue to grow, helping to strengthen our financial operations and support strategic decision-making.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage revenue accounting operations, including order-to-cash processes, AR invoicing, and cash application.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for revenue and AR, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Apply technical accounting guidance (e.g., ASC 606) to complex transactions and partner with external auditors and advisors.
- Identify and drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, business ops, and business teams on initiatives and special projects.
- Support internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP with in-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and hands-on experience applying revenue recognition standards to real-world scenarios.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build, audit, and analyze complex spreadsheets; strong analytical thinking.
- Strong understanding of SQL for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Self-motivated and action-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability; able to drive solutions independently with minimal oversight.
- Committed with the flexibility to put in extra effort when needed while maintaining speed and efficiency.
Other Considerations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Proficient in ERP systems, with hands-on experience using NetSuite.
- Prior experience in a high-growth or scaling startup environment, with adaptability to evolving processes and systems.
This role will be based in the Bay Area. The salary range for this role is $130,000-$175,000 USD.
