Position Summary

Sure Steel, Inc. is seeking a seasoned and driven Senior Project Manager to lead structural steel construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of steel erection or fabrication, strong project ownership, and exceptional team management experience.

While based in Charlotte, NC is preferred, we have office in UT, AZ, TX, IA and we are open to remote work for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will bring 7–10+ years of experience, preferably from a steel fabricator or erector, or a senior-level role at a general contractor.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage full lifecycle project delivery on steel erection and fabrication projects
• Oversee all aspects of scope, budget, schedule, logistics, and safety
• Direct and mentor project teams including junior project managers and coordinators
• Serve as the primary client liaison for all project matters
• Review drawings, specifications, and connection designs for constructability
• Coordinate material procurement, subcontractors, field logistics, and erection planning
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure performance, quality, and compliance
• Resolve project issues proactively and maintain project momentum
• Champion Sure Steel’s safety program across all project teams
• Deliver consistent reporting and forecasting to internal and external stakeholders

• 7–10+ years of experience managing structural steel or complex commercial construction projects
• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and direct reports
• Strong technical knowledge of steel erection, fabrication, and rigging
• Experience in budget control, schedule management, and contract administration
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills
• Background in construction from a steel erector/fabricator preferred; senior GC experience considered
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management platforms, and construction scheduling tools
• OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
