Position Title: Front Desk/HMIS Assistant (Public Health Internship)

A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a state-wide information technology system used to collect client-level data and data on the provision of housing and services to homeless individuals and families and persons at risk of homelessness, including the Meyer Center Health & Legal Clinic

Job Description: To assist the Meyer Center (Social Services) director and other staff in day-to-day operations.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION – 
Welcome and register clients in the HMIS Database, obtaining essential information including income, health status, housing, employment, etc. Manage, assign, and supervise chores at the center for clients. (ie., cleaning, admin, etc.) Assist Director with HMIS analytics for monthly reports and to support grant funding applications. Scheduling meetings for case workers, counselors, and program directors. Obtain and analyze homeless utilization data from Health Clinic to support Center operations. Position includes direct contact with homeless population.

All applicants must be Federal Work Study (FWS) Eligible. 

  • Provide support and assistance in a respective area of community service  
  • Assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to community service  
  • Provide excellent customer service to constituents  
  • Utilize available resources to perform duties accordingly  
  • Serve to enhance outreach for the greater Waco community  
  • Must be federal work study eligible
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
